Problem
Our client struggled with a manual and cumbersome Click and Collect process, especially when items were only available at the warehouse.
- Orders are downloaded manually at the end of each day.
- Store stock is manually confirmed for each item.
- A staff member manually creates each branch transfer in the ERP to move items from the warehouse to the stores.
- Branch transfers are manually uploaded to the email marketing platform to notify customers of delivery dates.
This time-consuming process is prone to errors and delays. Staff must constantly monitor and manage orders and inventory, often leading to miscommunication with customers about order status and availability.
Solution
To streamline Click and Collect, Deadwood Digital conducted a detailed workflow analysis and interviewed staff to identify pain points. Our solution fully automated the process.
We designed a custom web app integrated with the existing ERP. It monitors incoming orders, queries the store inventory system, and determines if the store can fulfill the order. If inventory is low, it creates a branch transfer from the warehouse and notifies the customer.
We managed the project rollout, trained staff on the new process, and provided support to resolve any issues.
